Wherever You Are

On July 13, 2015, this is the post I put on my facebook page;

  39 years ago, on this date, God blessed me. God allowed a turn of events to happen to me in which my attitude would guide my thinking. This gave me the outcome that guides my ability to deal with things, most of the time. It gave me a way to view people, knowing that they could be dealing with things of their own, most of the time. Although I fail occasionally, more often than I like, I can honestly say I have been blessed.
July 13, 1976 A car driven by 16 year old girl was hit as she pulled out on Hwy 33 by the light. She was taken to a hospital where she remained unconscious for 4 weeks. Diagnosed with a TBI. She was released after 51 days but returned for physical therapy weekly for another year. She is now living as a witness for the God who created us claiming the life of Jesus Christ as our Savior. Yes, she is writing this post, and loves each one of you who have taken the time to listen. (and those who kept scrolling too) GBYD

I received so many good comments from that post. I learned things that I didn't remember ever knowing before. 

Like, my glasses found in the rootbeer float that I had just purchased, were sitting on the table as a constant reminder to my sisters while I remained unconscious in the hospital.

                                         Wow, an object of disdain or one of hope.

Also, the woman who encouraged, three times, for my sister to sit down at the accident site, actually prayed for me, for her, and my family.

  This woman, another life touched, gave the best thing she could at that moment. The Holy Spirit lead her to give, I don't know who it was nor who might have been around to join in.

One of my cousins was at Church camp when her father, a Pastor, and mother came to tell her.
Another one of my cousins had an accident a year after mine, but with a fatal result.

                                     At times, as her sister recalls, there are lessons everyday even though we don't understand in this lifetime.

Many things happened that I never knew, many people prayed who I had never met, many tears with many lives changed.... 


BUT many are the blessings as a result. God is always in control and always available.

A few months ago, at my mother's memorial service, my father recalled a trip that they had taken to Israel. It was a very moving time for them to walk where our Lord and Savior, Jesus walked here on earth. They saw the trees and garden where He prayed. 
This was followed by the virtuoso singing of Jerusalem in an operatic style by my talented brother-in-law. 


The images that my father described were a beautiful 

visionary of an entree that mom must have taken to her 

heavenly home.

What this said to me, was to enjoy where you are, wherever you are, knowing that God is with you. Someone may use that moment as a reminder of a wonderful memory and someone else may see it as an entree into your heavenly home and someone will be lead by the Holy Spirit to pray.

 An Expert Example of an Entrepreneur ~ My #1 Life-coach

I listened to a podcast today that got me thinking. Over the past few months I have been focused on Marketing in Business and Entrepreneurship. I want to better myself to the point of being able to help with the family budget. I also want to feel useful and needed as I help others advance at their own lives.

Today I heard of someone that had lost everything he had obtained through business to step out on his own. He took that bold step to get out from under ‘the corporate thumb’ and now does extremely well in his service to others.  The interviewer added that the same thing happened to him, not by choice, but by circumstance. These events were a pivotal moment in both of their pursuits of Entrepreneurship. It all sounded a bit familiar.

That’s when it hit me.  Jesus Christ must have had this entrepreneurship thing down. He told his followers to get rid of stuff and follow Him. He had a mastermind session.

 He 'conference called' a few guys and gave them a private mastermind session to let them go out and

 lead.

                                                          How Cool is that?!  

 

So as beneficial as this podcast was for me;

 to learn a new process, or way of thinking;

                                to have the 3 pillars to 1) Think Clearly 2) Speak decisively & 3) Act boldly;

 the analogy to the ‘box top’ when putting together a puzzle being able to see where we are going – our goal or prize that we attain to; 

                              or staging our day with an A+ and living up to that grade . . .however . . .

All the education that I took away from the podcast was so valuable, thank you Gene Hammett and John Robinson. But the best thought for me is total relying on Jesus.

Moving mountains kind of Faith

Matthew 8:5-13

This bible reading talks of a Centurion (a Roman officer) coming to Jesus with a request. He wants his servant to be healed. It doesn’t say, but I wonder what motives inspired the man to come to Jesus. Could he have cared for his servant so much and for his well being, or could it have been an ulterior motive on his mind? Perhaps it was because this one made the best soup and couldn’t if  ill. Or maybe he had the best rapport with the other household servants and could get things done. Or maybe this Roman officer just happened to be in the area where Jesus was speaking and after hearing The Lord speak; he remembered back home and his sick servant.

In any case, the Centurion came to Jesus and told him about the servant. This is the point of the story, Jesus said he would come, yet the man proclaimed that ‘all He need do is say the word and it would be done as He says'.

The Roman officer cites that his own soldiers do as they are commanded and implies that Jesus had an even greater authority that could heal his servant.

After hearing his reply, Jesus pointed out to the ones following Him that the faith of this Centurion He had not seen in all of Israel. Jesus goes on to say those of this kind of faith will come to the Heavenly table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The next thing He said confused me, at first, but after more research, I see that He is saying that those who merely act like they have faith will be kicked out. They will end up as with gnashing of teeth and weeping.

[As a sidebar note: I have always wondered why the weeping and gnashing of teeth does not encourage more compassion. I want to hug that person; make it all better. But take it as a warning. I have found that in the Bible, when they speak of this, it is to show the extreme despair that one is undergoing. At this point, there is no fixing it to make it all better]

Jesus then becomes the healer and confirmation of the Centurions faith. At that moment, the servant was healed.

That’s the kind of faith that I want to have. A faith that believes that Jesus can and will do what is required. He can move mountains, should He choose to.
