Day 7 Movement Marketing Summit 2015

Disclaimer:
Remember, I am not going back over this to reword stuff, so it might not sound the best, but I  am doing this to be bold and building my confidence.
                                             Day 7

Martin Shervington was the opening speaker. Fantastic!! He is known as the 'King of Google+'. Martin came from a comedic background which gave him great analogies to pull from in starting to "play with" a google+ platform. He said "If you keep telling a joke and the audience doesn't laugh - it's not good for your ego." With Google plus, you can find like-minded people that have the same interest and when they share your post, they are saying, "You know what, I love you and what you're doing right then."
We need to first follow others - get rapport - comment - add to circles - build a relationship! Add the people that are most important to you (your business or like interest) - but make a friendship, it's not about you. You can get, as Martin put it, Digital reinforcement. You see that they share your stuff (or you share theirs) which says that they know someone else with the same interest, they like your post and they want to share it. Gives you authority. But for sure you need transparency. Be honest and open. With so many people sharing to their world, someone out there will see if you are not accurate. Your focus needs to be on content and community.
TRA was one of Andy's acronyms that stands for the building blocks needed. Trust - Reputation - Authority. Add the right people for you - show you care about them. Google+ shows that you follow someone because they have what you want. TIP; Go to events. Show Up. It confirms your interest. AJ used the thought of 'bringing cookies to a new neighbor' - they will remember and return the favor. Every google+ post is indexed. When someone searches - your content will show up. When is the right time for a 'call to action'? After you have built this trust, people will come to your site and share what you offer. A bi-product is that you will have people "watching your back". Don't sell on google+, the community will come to you. Important - Make everyone happy.
I was so impressed by Martin that I know the connections will come.
Thank you for being in this Summit, Martin Shervington.

The next speaker on the guest list, was Kenn Renner. He shared how to leverage video & youTube to create an audience and drive more traffic. YouTube is the 2nd largest search engine. People in this instant world do not want to wait for a DVD. He saw that the video thumbnail show up in search engine. Less than 12% of his industry used youtube for their adds and less than 2% of them use this free type of marketing for their business. It is a myth that it is too difficult as we can download a video on your smartphone. Another reason to use a video is businesses cannot see a return on the investment. When on youtube you can be online 24/7. If there is a camera shyness issue, be creative to video your customer's testimonial - when they are at the peak of satisfaction, get them on a video.
A major tip that Kenn gave was that youtube allows 100 characters for the title and you can word it just like a customer would word their search. The first twenty characters have the highest SEO value. Create a lot of content, take that hour long video, use youtube editor and break it down to 6 ten min videos on the topic that you had on at that moment, have written content below. Searches will pick that up. Description. Use http// address. use Tags for search words. ALWAYS have call to action in video - even if it should be obvious, you need to say it. Kenn shared video tips like In Stream advertising - anyone who visited your post in the past 30 or so days, you can put your add on their videos - let them see you on video so they feel they know you.
Thanks Kenn Renner for sharing with us.

Next, we listened to McCall Humes. She is an expert in Pinterest. She shared about the many ways to drive your business using Pinterest. You are the brand that you are posting. Build your audience by being active on the site you can bring like minded to you - draws business and customers. To grow, follow and share their content. It's a myth that Pinterest is a bunch of Mommies sharing food and fashion. Reality is that there are a lot more men using Pinterest and there are 70,000,000 people using and loads of businesses for free advertising. One thing McCall shared was the need for an image on the pin. Can't share it if there is no picture to show. That can draw interest and people will select it and be taken to your site or product or service. You need to have something people can share for you. Your posts should be 20% your stuff and 80% others, what you share.
Make your profile searchable and location for others. No #'s on Pinterest. Cultivate your audience.
Thank you McCall Humes.

The last speaker today was Viveka von Rosen. She shared how to drive traffi, attract an audience and Pick up clients Using LinkedIn. Wow - I thought LinkedIn was just for the corporate world, which I am not, but she introduced this new platform for us. She has authored books such as "Sophisticated Marketer's Guide" and  "Success Secrets of the Online Marketing Superstars" plus others.
A myth is that it is a 'new thing' and that you will have to recreate your platform, your engagement, or your platform. The reality is it is basically another channel to share. Another myth is that if you can post your profile and the jobs will pour in. The reality is you have to be strategic in your business process. Think of how people will see you. You don't want to 'hock your wears' or prospect. Viveka said LinkedIn has a sophisticated search to obtain specific audiences where it is best to have a buyer persona on each.
A method she shared to see if your target is there would be to use a friend's linkedin to search. Then, be selective and start sharing. You want to have Personal branding - not the company, rather someone who works there. A difference with linkedin as compared to other social media is that you can put in your website and CTA (call to action).
Thank you Viveka von Rosen, for your great expertise.
